Well registration for racer's may be closed but for those of us who are just spectators the TD Bank Mayor's Cup bike race should provide exciting bike racing close to home. This year the Mayor's Cup is the finale of the USA Criterium series. It will host an international field of Pro racers as well as very high level amateur racers. There are both men's and women's races as well as a Junior's race. If you aren't familiar with bike racing or if you want to find out details about the race schedule and where to watch them there is a good guide at this link.
There are at least two Dorchester residents who will be racing in the men's race on Sunday so you should plan to head to City Hall Plaza or environs and root them on.
Fields Corner resident (when he's not traveling to race his bike) Adam Myerson is racing with Team Mountain Khakis. His team is leading the USA Crit series in several categories and Adam is looking forward to racing right here in his home town.
The other Dorchester cyclist (that we know of) racing on Sunday is Kyle Gates who races with Weebikes-Haysun racing. Kyle is the second from the left and if you frequent Ashmont Cycles or participate in the AC wednesday rides you surely have met Kyle and know he is one fast guy.
It's going to be a great afternoon of racing so head downtown Sunday and cheer on your local racers as well as all the others racing in Boston.
