Tomorrow, Dot Bike will be at the first of many summer farmers markets. We'll be at the opening of the Ashmont Market, Friday from 3-7 in Peabody Square (outside the T). Keep an eye out for our table, which we'll be sharing with the Dorchester Environmental Health Coalition. We're excited to chat with people about biking in Dorchester--stop by to tell us where you like to ride or what you'd like to see improved. We'll also have some stickers, Boston bike maps (super helpful!), and coupons from our friends at the conveniently-located Ashmont Cycles, just across the street! For more details, see: http://mydorchester.org/Ashmont-Farmers-Market-2011-Launch
One great project on which local bike activists have been working is the translation of the Boston bike map into several different languages. This useful map is packed full of information for both bike commuters and casual riders. The Spanish and Portuguese translations are already available, and we'll have copies of the Spanish with us tomorrow. If you or someone you know would like this information in Spanish or Portuguese, or, coming soon, Vietnamese or Chinese, please let us know! dotbike@bostonbiker.org
We're looking forward to connecting with many neighbors and community members at markets all around the neighborhood this summer. Keep an eye on the blog to find out where we'll be!
